For those of you hungry for love this Valentine’s special combines live theatre with legendary Beefy Boy burgers…

It’s 1981 and Bea is hosting a dinner in memory of her dad Alfie. In his honour, she takes us back to 1913 when the younger Alfie met the love of his life Rose, amidst the racket and muck of Hereford’s old cattle market. Alfie was a ruddy-cheeked farm boy with rough hands and big ideas, Rose the bohemian daughter of a local landowner, dreaming of art and romance. They fell and they fell hard but their young love was star crossed. Their parents, the class divide and the horrors of the first world war would try to tear them apart. As this love story for the ages unfolds it reveals a tragic secret that has defined Bea’s very existence…

Love will Tear Us Apart is about standing in the mud whilst looking at the stars, trying to hold on to each other when the sky falls in and the heartbreak of saying goodbye. Expect laughter, tears and a banging 80s soundtrack.

The Ground Beneath Our Feet

We have been working with ‘We Are Farming Minds’,  finding out more about life in our local farming communities & exploring the experience together in artistic ways. We’ve been told many personal, beautiful & profound tales, elements of which provided the springboard for community writing workshops and for our upcoming devising workshop on 29th January.

In time the project will grow, but for now we will finish with a series of free, family friendly art workshops, taking elements of farming life for inspiration, which will be followed by a planting of spring bulbs as we look ahead to the future. These will be:

  • Sun 16th Feb: Ewyas Harold Memorial Hall (HR2 0EW) 2.30pm - 4.30pm

  • Mon 17th Feb: Weobley Village Hall (HR4 8SN), followed by the planting at The Ley (HR4 8QR) 10am-12pm.

  • Thurs 20th Feb: Much Birch Community Hall (HR2 8HT) 10am-12pm

  • Friday 21st Feb: Pembridge Village Hall (HR6 9EB) 10am-12pm

  • Fri 21st Feb: Craswall Village (Hall HR2 0PH) with the planting at Great Blackhill (HR2 0PH) 2.30pm-4.30pm

Please note there is a short drive between the halls & planting locations in Weobley & Craswall. Suitable painting & plating clothes are advised

Free Schools Workshops

We’re excited to be able to offer a limited number of fully funded workshops for schools throughout April & May, tying in with ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart’ and ‘The Word on The Street’. We’re able to come to your school and adapt the workshop to your needs - our speciality is, of course, celebrating the place where we live!

If you work for a school and are interested in learning more/taking up the offer, you can reach us via info@feralproductions.org.

Last Call

Last Call is a series of site-responsive short films based on the poetry of Jean Atkin, inspired by stories centred around the old village stalwart — the red British telephone box.

Love Bites

Five short plays by local writers were performed in and around the Beefy Boys while our audience munched on the best burgers around. Inspired by local stories of romance from the Old Cattle Market there was drama, love and laughter Hereford style.
